F8B piston question.

Trying my first rebuild on my own :D I have just pulled down the F8B motor out of a Hatch I bought. (Motor seized.) Turned out to be a bearing. Also one of the rings had shattered. Anyway my question is : Are the standard F8B pistons flat on top? The ones in this motor have cutouts for the valves.

Agree with Josh. They do fit. I swapped the steering wheels in an 83 Hatch (spares) and my 88 Mightyboy because of the crack problem. Fitted perfectly and looks just like Josh's

I think the standard tyre size for a mightyboy should be 145/70 R12
to find the speedo error with larger wheels/tyres

Damn. Too far to go.
Wish I had a canopy like that one.
Also it has the steering wheel "feature". Three of the four steering wheels I have all have the crack in the same place. :(

I always found that the 10 seconds per plug to check the gap was a good investment in time. (specially on NEW plugs) :D

From my regular trips to Sydney on the freeway I worked out that I get between 18 and 20 km/l (F8B) . Wasn't happy with economy until I saw some of the figures here :D

On the brochure it shows a 5 speed manual, as well as auto.
Is that a turbo on the picture of the engine?
Also the PS-A model didn't have the roof bars and
it looks like an economy rate of 31.4km/l for the PS-L model. :-o
