I have gone down this path, combined my mb with the lj80 chassis. The engine starts and runs and brakes work from the MB cab but can't get the steering set up to work well yet. Will post pics if interested.

I was going to pull my F8b +manual box and ask the same money, but from the replies so far I'd be better off leaving them as they sit.

With the international reputation of these LJ's, I can't beleive that I didn't get one sooner. Also can't beleive how much fun I've had stripping it back. I thougght the MB was a simple car! The leaps and bounds that Suzuki made between the two models over five years is unbeleivable! It is 100% time...

I considered f8b but I would like to keep the original engine, I've just bought an LJ81 (the 'tray back' version of the LJ80) and wouldn't even consider putting the F8B into it. Why would this be an option? The F8A is four cylinder and the F8B is three. Can you explain? As i have a really good F8b ...

Shane's "new" Suzuki LJ81

So I've always wanted a tray back ute so I finally got one...... A 1980 LJ 81. Needs a bit of tlc but it should be fun for taking on the dunes at Stockton beach. Anyone with any spares for an f8a let me know.
