Re: Diesel Project
This is just too cool. Where did you get the angled gearboxes from?

Re: Driving Lights
You can run the switching side of the relay from either negative or positive. Just choose the switching wire for the lights and then run the other as a constant.

Re: Bike engined MB in QLD
Yeah, that's pretty much what I was thinking. Would be good to keep the engine under the bonnet and retain all the stock cargo area. Sherpa's are front drive so maybe a rear subframe from a Cappucino or something like that. Maybe even an adapted front subframe set up with a diff carrier. I brought o...

Re: Bike engined MB in QLD
Nice find. Always like seeing bike engined car builds.
I've got a full K8 GSXR1000 engine sitting in the shed. I was thinking it would go good in one of my 3 Sherpa's.

Nice. I've got a G10 and 5 speed that might interest you when the time comes. If you go fitting race seats I'd be keen to talk about your originals if they're useable.

Is that a new rule? I've brought 3 imported vehicles into canberra from interstate and never taken them to Dickson. At least 2 also had Queensland mod plates.Brayden wrote:All imported vehicles must go through Dickson:

Why did you needs to take it over the pits in Dickson? It shouldn't have needed an ID check because of its age.

Re: G10 Engine Swap Compendium (What you may get yourself in
*The reason I specified that the motor is from a MK2/3 Swift is because the gearbox is larger than a MK1 G10A, which makes the install harder. Are the early and late gearboxes interchangeable between the early and late engines. I've currently got Mk1 engine and box in the car with a major camshaft ...

I've got a complete motor at the farm but I'm a fair distance from you and I hate selling things that I can't show working, even when I know they are.

Re: So, I bought a Suzuki - new user
The answer is that the model designation SS40T was never fitted with an F8B, and that motor exceeds the capacity limitations. That being said, all other tech aspects of an MB are equal to the F8B Alto/Hatch models, so the process of engineering is a simple check-box list that shouldn't take more th...

Only thing stopping them from fitting is the grille, which to be honest is the ugliest piece on these cars anyway.

Re: So, I bought a Suzuki - new user
You don't need engineering for the F8b. It's an engine that came out in that model of car. Fix it up and leave it in. There's nothing fun about an F5a mated to an Auto box.

Re: FS: 1988 Mightyboy - $1000
Bargain. Let us know if you part it out. I may be keen on engine subframe, driveshafts and some engine bolt ons. Mine has been fitted with a G10a but it's not engineered and camshaft has destroyed a couple of bearings. I still have the original F5a and manual which ran good, just need to replace bit...

Re: Suzuki Hatch with motorbike engine
Yeah, some pics of the engine setup would be cool if anyone's seen them. I've recently acquired a 190 hp K8 GSXR1000 with a cracked frame. Engine should still be good.
