Re: "82 Hatch project 543cc.
Holy crap, it's been nearly 2 years since I started this thread..!!! So, as sometimes happens, LIFE gets in the way of our pursuits. Split up with the Ex, moved house, etc, etc..... My little hatch has been transferred to the new abode, and I finally found some time to start him up, and see where i ...

Re: what am I missing?
Wow.! How to answer that question??
Looks all there. Why did PO (previous Owner) pull it apart?
Does it have a timing belt on?
Do you have the big bolt and washer to hold the pulley onto the crank?
Does the engine even turn over?
Got a battery?
The list is endless................

So, do you want advice? Anyone who offers it, gets a reply that is rude and disrespectful.
I doubt anyone here has worked in R&D at the ACL gasket company. Maybe you should direct your questions to them?

If your gasket has a round hole, and your head and block have a slot, cut the gasket so the slots and holes are all the same shape and size.

Re: So, I bought a Suzuki - new user
I haven't experienced any probs with my F5A, yet, but the head gasket problem is a common one on ALL cars. Aftermarket gaskets are made to "someones" standard, not necessarily the Manufacturer. The main problem with the head on your Suzi, is TAP WATER ! Give the engine a good flush, when i...

Re: F10a Timing belt tooth jump
Yes, and yes. Could be inlet manifold leak, incorrect ignition timing, cracked dizzy cap, plug lead fail, poor fuel supply from pump or blocked jets........strange for an overhauled engine. Spray a little carby cleaner or Aerostart near the inlet manifold, while it's running. If the idle speed chang...

Re: exhaust gasket
You sure it's the manifold? Could be a hole in the muffler, or loose joints..
