Re: Feasibility of finding parts in 2020

All those parts are actually quite easy to source through Repco, Autobarn, eBay and even the 4WD Part Shop Online. Ebay have a longer lasting Nolathane type Bush kit for the suspension and most of the sway bar mounts etc. Rubber is still available if that's your preferred choice. You can also find a...

Re: removing seat mountings

I basically wanted to tie both mounts in together. I knew if I tried to even strengthen each side, they would more than likely crack and pull away from the floor again at some point. I kept the same bolt spacing as factory specs so any standard MB seat/seat rail can bolt right in. :)

Re: FS: 10mm wheel nuts to suit alloy/mag wheels

That's all good Brayden, I'm not in any hurry for a set so I'll wait for the next lot to be available. Thanks for checking though, will let you know if I decide to go with the uncoated ones anyway. :)

Re: Engine conversions - a quick guide

If the 'larger motor' is what we would assume to be the Suzuki Hatch motor, you would be looking at an 800cc and is easily found with a stamping of 'F8B' just below and to the side of the oil pressure sender and just below that closer to the sump is the engine number. The front of the block will als...

3rd gear jumping out under load/on Boost.

Recently had the motor out of the boy to get the new clutch installed and replace the bottom engine mounts and just do a general tidy up while I could get to everything. I had a spare box lying about and decided to swap them over while the whole lot was out. I pulled the box apart, replaced the bear...

Re: Possible Valve Stem Seal Leak?

I have had the Boy off the road far too long for my liking but recently dropped the motor back in. I installed a HD clutch and while the motor was out I tidied up a lot of hoses, wiring etc. The original thread topic was about valve stem seals which was completely mis-diagnosed and found the cause t...

Re: Mat's '88 Mighty Boy.

Just reaised you left a reply on this haha. I should have known you were talking about my Purple MB which is this one, as my current MB is dark Blue with a purple tinge to it. So just to confirm, yes Bundy/Burnett Heads based, cheers for following the build too.  :thumbup2:

Re: Possible Valve Stem Seal Leak?

Haha I took my manifold off last night and removed the cork gasket from both sides of the adapter plate and they were absolute crap. The fuel that has passed through over many months have eaten away around the port hole areas. The cork gasket which is 3mm thick has been ok up until now, I didn't hol...

Re: Possible Valve Stem Seal Leak?

Well I have now misdiagnosed this problem because the No.3 cylinder spark plug had coolant on it when I checked all of them after the misfiring cold start. I even put a piece of paper in front of the spark plug hole and cranked with injectors unplugged, spitting out obvious remains of green coolant....

Re: Possible Valve Stem Seal Leak?

Cheers Brayden, I'll definitely look over the plugs first. Tomorrow I'll start it and shut it off straight after its misfiring, which I'm sure there is oil fouling one of the plugs until it clears enough to run smoothly on 3 cylinders again. Good to know if there is ever an issue with the crankcase,...

Excellent, I'll keep that in mind. That may be the easier way to go about it and I'll definitely keep an update on this.

Re: Possible Valve Stem Seal Leak?

Thanks Zuffen, the guides were another option to look into as well. I'm aware of being able to keep the head on while doing the seals after putting pressure in the cylinder to keep the valve seated shut. I'll pull the cover off and see if there's side to side play with any of the valves, It'll at le...

Possible Valve Stem Seal Leak?

I'm after another opinion on what may be a failed Valve Stem Seal. The last couple of days I have had White/Bluish exhaust smoke but only when decelerating and coasting with the clutch in (idling), basically when the engine is at its highest amount of vacuum. I get no smoke what so ever when at a cr...
