out of interest in regards to oil pickup i dug through the manual and found this

so it seems oil pickup would be lowest point in the oil pan with engine leaning forward

i think you will find that once the engine is placed in there and compared to a standard motor it looks very similar, its just that the f8cv motor usually sits vertical in the matiz and to make use of the space they added a higher intake plenum to fit correctly, rather than in the mighty boy they ha...

just for reference i did have to modify the tab on the inside of that mount slightly, which if you look closely you can see it discoloured in the last few photos, but it does mount after that change

er there was no sub frame in the matiz it was mounted to the either side of the rails of the body, no subframe as such, the auto subframe may help more as the standard gearbox mount bolts under the frame so it may be modified to sit on where the auto bolts too on the frame without too much trouble i...

on the matiz i had it was not elastic, but a zip tie holding it up

you may also notice one tie rod end has a thread and the other is reversed

ill grab a photo of both tie rod end's, i have a hatch and matiz one sitting on top of each other, give me an hour or so and ill take the photo

I'm still a fan of the F8B because you can start the swap after breakfast and be driving it by lunchtime. i will vouch for this one, ive had drivable to out and gearbox change and driveable again in just a tad over 3 hours, after like the 5th time its been done its like rinse and repeat over again ...

Fuel line should be fine as long as i run the pressurised fuel from a rear surge tank.
the Matiz uses a non return fuel rail btw

Yeah looks like im going to need to fabricate the gearbox mounts.

and as for wiring i got a whole Loom from the matiz i wrecked so im going to use that

No timeframe as yet, its a project to keep me off computers.....


biggest problems i see are the gearbox mounts
and getting the cable shift through the firewall..
