Re: 1989 Super Carry Master Cylinder removal

Ok no worries. Thank you for always answering my questions. Without your help I'd be clueless and have probably sold the van when I don't want to.

Re: 1989 Super Carry Master Cylinder removal

So the dash is super easy to get out and only took 35mins. Now that I'm looking at the brake master cylinder and booster, how do I test it to see what the problem is? Preferably I'd like to repair it with a kit for $100 rather than spend $400 on a new one.

1989 Super Carry Master Cylinder removal

Hi again, still trying to fix all the issues on my new project and while I'm waiting for my new carburettor and fuel pump to arrive I thought I'd have a go at fixing the brakes. I filled the brake fluid reservoir and proceeded to bleed the brakes. Front brakes no problem but no fluid pumped to the b...

Re: Petrol gushing from front of Carbie.

You just might be onto something with the pump not being right. Looking at the black cap where the wiring harness goes into the pump, there is a Mitsubishi diamond logo on it. Didn't notice it straight away because of the dirt on it.

Re: Petrol gushing from front of Carbie.

I've been doing plenty of reading and it points to the 3 things you're talking about. I've pulled the carb back out this morning to inspect the float and needle/seat. They could do with a polish but the needle seems to move freely enough in the seat. With the way it gushes out the front of the carb ...

Petrol gushing from front of Carbie.

Hi all, I finally got my 89 Super Carry started but it cuts out straight away and then petrol starts gushing out of the front of the carbie. At this point I turn the key off because I can here the electric fuel pump still running. I disconnected the wiring harness to the fuel pump and then I can sta...

1989 F10A Vacuum lines

I've only just acquired a 1989 Super Carry and in the process of trying to get in running again as it sat for years. I've replaced the filters, fluids, etc and have had to replace some of the vacuum lines as they crumbled when I removed the carbie to clean it. Unfortunately I made the rookie mistake...
