Re: triple supercharged MB
As some of have gathered, i was being a bit sarcastic. Every few months there seems to be some new useless gadget appear on the market. The turbonater things along with these reject hairdriers seem to be the current offering. Some time ago it was the plastic shells to make your stock brakes look lik...

triple supercharged MB
Guys, I've stumbled across the cheapest power upgrade for the MB - even the lowly 550 can have it's output boosted for the cost of a set of new tyres. http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/CAR-ELECTRIC-TURBO-SUPERCHARGER-KIT-/251148483133?pt=AU_Car_Parts_Accessories&hash=item3a799dba3d It says it will add ...

Re: is this a fair price to get the boy painted?
Busses, taxis, trucks etc, they're all vinyl wrapped. The Japs go crazy with manga, hello kitty etc on their vinyl wraps.i suggested it to a friend on mine who was thinking of a respray on a mr2 with a fibreglass body kit. The vinyl covers some imperfections and the crazing that happens with fibregl...

Re: Twin turbo
Why not put three turbos on a mightyboy? Technically, there's no reason why you couldn't, it comes down to how much money and effort you want to spend and for what return. The reality is that the mb engine hasn't got the best airflow and head design, so to get big power you need to spend big money. ...

Re: EFI questions
Doing this very thing has been on my list for some time. I've done plenty of research but no actual installation! The first hurdle is the 36-1 crank timing wheel. These can be got off 90's ford falcons as well as the reluctor pickup. If you're prepared to pay for the tools, you can reprogram the EEC...

Re: fuel hose fitting
Followed by a hose clamp hopefully.
Seems like the hose was a tad too small for the fitting. Usually one doesnt have to perform shenanigans to get the hose to fit.

Re: MY BOYS STARLET PROJECT!
My thoughts- get a tape measure as the space in any other vehicke is like a wizards sleeve compared to a mightyboy. Let us know what the tape measure told you so others can benefit.

Re: new f8b efi engine
The injection setup looks much like a Matiz. There seems to be three injectors into the head and you can see the fuel rail and pressure reg. Even the Matiz still has a dizzy. The electronic ignition is where you'll get most of the power increase, the fuel injection just gives you better fuel meterin...

We should be a little more precise. 2004 cosworth CART engine quoted as producing 800bhp with max boost of 5.6 psi at sea level.

Re: Carbon build up
What causes carbon build up? In the cylinder is where i gather you are referring to. Running too rich causes more than normal build up. Fuel injected engines have less of a problem but unfortunately some oil finds it way into the combustion chamber along with other impurities forms the build up.

Re: Supercharger, what one?
You can't talk about superchargers in the same way as turbos. Apart from the way they're driven they a two different types of pumps. A supercharger is a positive displacement pump. Each rotation it moves one bucket of air. since this is driven by the engine you xan be reasonably sure of the air that...

Re: automatic transmission problems
My memory of the operation of the mb auto is a bit hazy as it has been a few years since i opened one up, however, if my memory serves me correct, the auto has one band and one clutch. I think the clutch changes the gears (it actually connect or disconnects two shafts) and has a piston that activate...

Re: Please help on F8C Turbo MB Conversion
You wont need to worry about my bizarre electronics- the Matiz has electronic injection and ignition. However, if you put a turbo on, you'll need to consider using another ecu like a megasquirt. If you have no idea about auto electronics, be prepared to pay someone lots of $$$ or spend a lot of your...
