1987 MB for Sale - Canberra

Hi Guys, We'll it was a nice dream while it lasted.. I wanted to do up my MB, and learn about cars.. Unfortuntely, I lost my 24/7 mechanic and I'm finding it too hard to work out myself. So, I'm buying a new car, and 4 cars in the drive is too much. It is with deep regret that I'm selling the boy. I...

I'll happily pay for a rebuild if it means the weeds stop growing up around the boy!! I love the car.. But, manuals make me nervous.. Always have..

SO.. I guess I'm looking for a auto ute guys!

Manual to Auto

I know y'all will tell me I'm crazy.. and I can deal with that..

I want to convert the manual to auto..

I guess I have two options..

1. Convert
2. Find someone to trade

But, I really don't want to get rid of the one I've got..

I guess even an auto donor car..

:-o OooOoo Not too bothered by price.. I thought what you paid was reasonable.

Would the Alto have a 5 speed gearbox? I should go check it out.. But, I'm outta town for the next two weekends.

Can a gearbox be rebuilt? Mine is a little dodgy..

Drivin' it to work tomorrow :-o :D

WTB: F8B

Hi Guys,

My little F5A is dying.. Something to do with bearings and stuff...

Will essentially need to have it rebuilt.. SO, I think I'll just upgrade and have an F8B rebuilt instead.

Preferably running.. Or close too..

Well.. It seems like I may have been at fault.. It didn't occur to me to check the water.. And It may have been low. We refilled the radiator the day it over heated and it's still full.. I took it for a small drive on teh weekend through Flynn.. Got to a small but steep hill.. and it was that...

We'll I have4n't driven it enough to know what the 'normal running temp' of an MB is.

As I watched the temp climb I thought "I better get on Tamon and see how hot they normally run' - So, how hot do they normally run?!

BRAYDEN!! Don't put that thought out there!! Not a blown head gasket!

I'll take it back to the mechanic in a week or two and have him pressure test the radiator. Can I get a thermostat new or do I need to go harvest one?
