Re: F8b inlet manifolds
There was some but it was across the water jacket. The corrosion was blocking a lot of the flow through the holes in the head gasket. Maybe the coolant mix was diluted and boiling as the gasket looked intact?

Re: F8b inlet manifolds
Decided to do head gasket and found leaky water pump at same time. There is corrosion in the water jacket on the head and water pump too . Any ideas how to stop this from spreading? Are there more earths than from the rocker cover and geaarbox to battery?

Here are the pics. I was sure that these were off a manual sb308 alto. Happy if i can use the older manifold, do i need to block vaccuum lines on carby or just disconnect?

Re: Speedo wiring
hi, pics would be useful so we know which one you mean. if the colours of the wires match up that is a good indicator, do a search for wiring diagram and you should be able to work out what goes where. as for the speedo, it is a cable that runs from the back of the gearbox into the back of the speed...

Re: Removing hub
you could pop the drive shaft from the box and then have a go at getting the other end out. from therei am not sure about how much more you would need to do. you might need to press the rest apart as it looks like the bearing holds the hub together.
