Re: Time Attack Mighty Boy
200 HP is pushing it (or so it seems, that is about the highest figure I've heard). I've got a friend who works for Ford and specialises in forced induction, and we have had many discussions on what to do with the turbo, lag vs top end power and so on. My hunch is to go for less power and keep the l...

Re: Time Attack Mighty Boy
Hi Jellety, I've kept every piece of steel I've cut off the chassis, so when I've finished I can weigh it. The carbon panels are very light, but there is a decent amount of cage which puts the weight back up. If the car came in around 550kg I'll be very happy. Engine wise, I'm aiming for 180hp. E85 ...

Hey g man, in a nutshell, it's AWD. I'm using the front end of an Alto Works; F6A, 5 speed 4WD gearbox, front uprights and axles. The rear end is Cappuccino; Diff, uprights and axles. All the suspension arms are custom fabricated, and I'm replacing the brakes front and rear.

Re: Time Attack Mighty Boy
Wow, it's been 2 years since I posted this thread. The car's not done, but a lot of progress has been made. The explain the project briefly, I'm turning my MB into a time attack style track car based cosmetically on the now retired Voltex Cyber Evo, with a self imposed 'kei car' regulation 660cc eng...

Re: standard wheels
I'm a long way from the Hume, right down on the coast in Rosebud. Without tyres, the rims would pack into a small enough box that freight shouldn't cost too much. Not sure what to ask for the rims, they probably aren't worth much, it's more the time in having tyres removed/packaging/organising freig...

Re: Arklans electric hatch
The problem with vehicles like the Hatch, Matiz and a lot of other 'non sporty' Kei cars, when it comes to aero, is how tall they are, particularly at the back. The air separation off the top of the roof, creates a lot of drag. Put simply, an ideal aerodynamic shape is a tear drop, smooth and round ...

Re: Time Attack Mighty Boy
The shark fins on Evos etc are vortex generators, and on a sedan like that they will control the airflow separation point from the top of the rear window and bring it further down the window, reducing the wake size, and increasing the pressure on the rear surface, therefore decreasing drag. The Migh...

Time Attack Mighty Boy
Those of you that check out the Team Mighty Boy facebook page, may have seen a picture of my most ambitious MB project around October last year, just before it made the trip from Victoria to NSW to go on display at World Time Attack as a work-in-progress. I hope it will be interesting for those othe...

Search for 'JDM style spoiler' in the for sale section. I make these, as well as the standard panel.
