Re: F10A to K10A Suzuki Super Carry

Wee update. I found a massive vacuum leak, 10mm hole where the EGR never got welded over because it was blocked from carbon. Fuel economy sky rocketed and the gas dial doesn't drop like it use to. But it intermitantly idles low sometimes to the point of stalling. Hope I don't have to buy a IAC valve.

Do they have worked K10a engines over there? I wouldn't mind beefing mine up. I'm struggling to find information on them let alone upgrades. For a 1000cc DOHC turbo there is something hellish holding it back, even in the wagon R I drove. Go as big and as large as you can j-six. You won't have any re...

My super carry van had round headlights.

It requires a hammer, some panel beating skills and a drill. It's not a bolt on job.

Engine mounts Wiring If its EFI you need a surge tank and EFI fuel pump If your tilting it you need sump modification and oil pick up. Custom turbo dump pipe. My exhaust was a prick to fabricate due to the exhaust exiting right next to the crossmember. Read my engine swap to see what I had to alter....

Well the camshaft sprocket should have 2 markings 180 degrees around the sprocket. I guess if its on compression stroke of the valves you will be able to rock the cam without a lobe making the sprocket turn about 1/4 in a big thump. Check how your timing is first. Get in there with some brake clean ...

I would go with the sticker on the body. But since you said you've got a f10 head on the 800cc block then you should really time it by ear. Set the timing at 0 degrees and road test on a hill facing upwards (stepper the better). Now chuck it in 2nd and labour it without stalling. You will head deton...

I thought $80 was cheap when I brought my box. Dropped your revs down heaps?

I don't know how much aussies charge an hour but $180 would be cheap as here. $180 is about 2 hours labour.

How much cash you got to spend? I would recommend trying to put a turbo daihatsu charade motor in. I know a guy put a 1000cc turbo charade motor into his daihatsu hijet. Perhaps try the 1300 turbo. I've found with my K10a although it'l kick any other carrys arse and can keep up with the average car,...

Perhaps he used the wrong combination of timing belt or timing pulley size to match the cranks rotation? I really don't know how they figure out the maths to put a different head on and find the correct timing belt and number of teeth on the sprocket. Usually the rings should seal right from the sta...

If the engines in and theres shit on the valve seats your best bet is to try fire her up and hope like hell the compressions improve. I rebuilt an engine but didn't lap the valves and the compressions of 3 cylinders were about 70 at the lowest. After it was started an ran the compressions rose. But ...

Hot cables could be poor conductivity, high resistance cables, high resisitance in the stator motor. The positive terminal from the battery goes directly to the stater motors positive terminal. Also make sure your earth cable is earthed to the engine and chassis is good spots. The carry stater motor...

I used the original clutch cable. I used a 1989-1998 300zx model Z32 dip stick I've got an electric fan drawing the air into the radiator. You could afford to have an oversize radiator by a good 80mm and place a fan on the front side of it without any issues. Get ALL the original parts you can. As I...
