Re: G16 motor in a 1999 Carry van.

fitted the hub last week with an Old SAAS 70s 12 inch steering wheel, very quick postage from that dude highly recommened for $10 bucks delivered. Feels better by far than the old bigger wheel, easier to control the steering when it gets hairy in the wet from the extra oomph which I might ad is quit...

Re: Suzuki with shaft drive motorbike engine around 800cc

I'm not right across Suzuki bikes, but I think the only shaft-driven models are the Burgman and some of the larger V-twin tourers. The Burgman has a CVT transmission through. Didnt know about the Burgs! wow heavy 269kg dry for the 650cc one. Im going to have to settle for any brand of motorbike eng...

Re: G16 motor in a 1999 Carry van.

G'day Sorry I have been working at Brewarrina, which is far away from civilization. I did 900kms today in my Carry van dodging kangaroos, emus, pigs, goannas, but aiming for foxs. The hub looks the same as mine. I just trimed back the plastic bit to clear the Carry column surround. I haven't done a...

Suzuki with shaft drive motorbike engine around 800cc

Id like to use a carry diff rwd and prop shaft all the way to the back from the front and have sequential 5 speed box. Gonna be club reg so engineering w...

Re: G16 motor in a 1999 Carry van.

Thanks OMV for the brochures very helpful - looks like the van is much heavier and 4.3 instead of 4.555 for the ute which is also quite a lightweight! love to have a ute with rwd only and worked G16b :thumbup2: Just putting it out there..... 1. I wonder if we can replace our diff centres if need be ...

Re: G16 motor in a 1999 Carry van.

If you want to run without the mains girdle on the g16b you can run with the stock sump but its up to you and although the girdle keeps the mains a little firmer some say its not needed, however the new position of the g16b been taller and on a slant would be safer with the mains girdle for that lit...

Re: G16 motor in a 1999 Carry van.

I don't know the ratios, but I've owned both and I believe they're exactly the same in the 99+ models.. The g16b is actually wheelspinning, chirping and squealing the rubber in my van a tad on some turns but I reckon you could also have a very heavy right foot O:) The ute must be was lighter for su...

Re: my 13b extended port carry all done :)

I have a custom 13b single rotor and although the 13b is considered 2600cc mine is considered 1300cc just under the weight x 3 for NA so should be 750kg x 3 = 2250cc or a 12a should be right no?

Re: G16 motor in a 1999 Carry van.

G'day I am impressed with your success. A couple of questions: 1. Why did you use the NZ adaptor plate for the gearbox? Was this instead of getting the block modified? --- yes no block mods 5. What model Honda is the D16 alloy 3 core Radiator out of? and did you still use the Carry thermo fan? ----...

Re: my 13b extended port carry all done :)

the most uneconomical carry around :D

Subaru boxer from a leone or brumby 1800 with pushrods rather than belts would make a reliable and nice to drive carry, a supercharged one in a speedway car years ago on methanol destroyed the Esslinger and other Midget specialized engines.

Re: G16 motor in a 1999 Carry van.

thank you I wish it had that kind of power to need awd! but I would honestly love an AWD carry ute converted to RWD with extended rear section so I could fit a perky J24 in the middle or midmount :) As for 1298cc versus 1590cc I think there is only 22% increase which should fall within the new engin...
