Most carb repairers dont notice its departure when and as they remove the top section. You can be sure that the removal of the top of your is by no means a " virgin" type proceedure

If you are game, Take the top level off the Carby, try to see where the small ball bearing should be replaced, it will fall out, put some heavy grease on it to hold it in when you replace the top. My feeling is that the problem will be in the Float Bowl. Check the needle and seat are "seated&qu...
