Re: club rego

I'd be looking into a jap car club that has classic jap stuff in it.

There's a lot of stuffing around to start a car club, a couple of mates of mine have started one, lots of BS to go thru to be eligible for club rego too. Well worth it in the end, but a lot of BS!

Cheers

Re: Electronic Ignition woes.....

which module did you use? the one i used required the removal of the ballast resistor for best performance I used a Pertronix Ignitor 1 module and also a coil from the same mob. I have not yet removed the resistor, have been advised it shouldn't be required, but it might run better with it removed....

Re: Lower ball joint flogged

They can also be bought thru repco. Thru repco they will have the inner control arm bush too. Part number SBJ406ARM. You will still need to get the bushes that link the swaybar to the lower control arm before you can do it, I wouldn't suggest using the old flogged out bushes! I've got a new pair to ...

Re: Electronic Ignition woes.....

It would seem like the curve is out. I have not tried playing with the timing much, other than advancing it a little, but the idle starts to stumble very quickly. I've checked it with a timing light, at 900rpm the timing is on 7deg, correct for a F8b iirc. Maybe the module is the wrong one for the d...

Electronic Ignition woes.....

Hey everyone, I've recently fit a pertronix Ignitor electronic conversion to the dizzy in my mighty boy. Fit the module inside the dizzy and a 1.5 ohm coil. Before fitting the coil, the boy would start easy & idle, but nothing more. Since upgrading the coil to one with only 1.5 ohm resistance, i...

Re: Engine mounts

That auction has some very incorrect details listed as Brayden pointed out. If you kick thru all the eBay items for "mighty boy's", more than a few of them have incorrect details. The side mounts, ie left & right mounts are available thru plates like repco, bursons & so on as well ...

Re: Albury Gathering & Cruise 2013 - April 19, 20, 21

Nice work on the tent Tez!

I've still got some work to do on my boy, hope to get a bit done this long weekend, then some more next weekend.

I'm still coming, either with or without the mighty boy. I'm looking forward to the trip!

Cheers

Re: Albury Gathering & Cruise 2013 - April 19, 20, 21

Don't worry man, I've got a bit of work to do to mine before the trip. Namely the carby, as well as an electronic ignition conversion. Then I'd also like to get my new gearbox & clutch fit, will just have to wait & see how that pans out lol. There's still a bit of time before the cruise, tho...

Re: price check please

Wheel bearings can be had from any good bearing service, they are not too pricey. However, it takes a lot of time to remove & fit the new bearings. If that's quote for parts & labor that's not too bad. Shocks price seems excessive, yet again unless it's parts & labor. Genuine bushes are ...

Could be handy to have on a cruise. If a boy goes down we can get it back to base camp.
That's what I was thinking.....

Re: mb has finally bitten the dust

...throw a big nasty v8 into it and use it for burnouts.... Please dont put a V8 in it. its been done too many times. I hate seeing MBs taken off the road unnecessarily. Go for an f8B conversion. Easy enough to do, and you will be back in action for the Albury cruise in no time. A good idea if hand...

Re: Albury Gathering & Cruise 2013 - April 19, 20, 21

I'll add those dates to my calendar right now! I don't want to miss this one, had too much fun last year, even tho I blew mine up. I've got a car carrying tandem trailer now, so I might seriously consider towing it up for the cruise, unless I get the time to swap in my new 4spd box, it's a noisy dri...

Just drop another engine into it man. Was it a F5a? If so, they are easy to find & cheap.
