Re: mb is a commercial vehicle for real

With a Tare of 540, and a GVM of 930, the MB can carry more load per vehicle weight that a Commodore Ute! Mine cleared the pits here in WA as a Commercial, had to make sure the Tare and GVM were visible on the side though. *shrug* Biggest advantage is when going through the ADRs and NCOP for changi...

Re: mb is a commercial vehicle for real

Nice work Cozza.

Mine had a bull bar a few years ago, I sold it, didn't really like the look of it on my boy.

Re: mb is a commercial vehicle for real

There is more than a few tossers at tyre places that think like that. You should have seen the looks I got the other day when I rocked up to one tyre place, to pickup a couple of s/h 185 R14's to go on my trailer rims I had in the tub! They at first couldn't believe such a small car can make so much...

The shell? Yes, for the moment. That poor rusted boy has been cut into two pieces, the back half I'm going to make into a trailer, the front has already been donated to "mighty boy science".

Do you need a specific bit from the shell?

Mighty Boy parts - Vic - Updated

Hey everyone, I've stripped the last bits from the boy I'm parting out. I've got a sub frame (auto iirc) & complete front suspension, inc brakes, that I don't really need. Anyone need any parts, make an offer on them! Ie, parts that are availabe Sub Frame Drive Shafts - in ok condition Struts - ...

Re: WANTED 550 Motor Good Working Order

Are people confusing the "sub frame" and the "cradle"? I've always known the cradle to be the bit that bolts under the crank pully end, that needs to be from a mighty boy, as well as the metal part of the trans bracket, then you use the mighty boy firewall torque support & it...

Re: What can I do

HID's are not ADR compliant when put into an older car that didn't have them fit originally. This could be an issue. Honestly, with a new set of standard H4's, you can see more than enough if the headlights are aimed correctly.

Re: FS: F8b Carby {VIC}

SOLD & Shipped.

I might have another, found another complete carby in the shed, just need to check the part number & work out what it is. I will post it in a separate thread if I find that it's an F8b carby.

Re: strut tops

More like double the price due to the profiteering for the little bit of effort to get them in.

I priced up some genuine tops a little while ago, as I get trade I thought they were pretty reasonable, it's something that I should do in my boy soon.

Re: What can I do

I'll 2nd the headlight upgrade, I converted mind to semi sealed with H4 globes, 55/60w and they are so nice to drive with at night, much more like a modern car!

New shocks & bushes is a good start to help handling. Maybe a rear sway bar.

Re: strut tops

Your going to be struggling mate, I've never seen what I'd call a good set of second hand units yet. Noletech do a universal strut top that I'm looking into atm, to see if it can be made to fit the mighty boy's or not. Not sure on price yet.

Re: opinions on mb

If it's really clean you can probably ask what you want for it upto around the $3-4k mark. If it's a rusted shitter they are almost worthless.
