Lyndon, I do not know about the Carry truck but I have been informed that the van was never a Japanese domestic market vehicle. That maybe why you are finding info difficult.

Will a F5A / F6A fit under the seats or will you have to put it on an angle? If so I would imagine that would cost quite a bit of money to have an inlet manifold made for starters.

Those extra 3 inches obviously pose a problem Braydon. At 5 ft 11 I find driving the van extremely comfortable, I have driven from Melbourne to Newcastle and Melbourne Sydney return with only petrol stops. So maybe if you are over 6 foot it is a problem, my old man is 6 ft and didn't it seem to both...

Lyndon, you would need to have bloody long feet and your feet to your knees would have to be long also to interfere. I found that wearing a pair of steel cap boots I have that often when I was getting out the left steel cap would get stuck under the clutch pedal and I would have to climb back in and...

Cameron, without being negative, and remember I drive a Carry, but the fact is if you have an accident the chances of survival is minimum. You just might find that wider tyres will help prevent an accident more so than light truck tyres that are designed to carry a load. You have a rare, fun van tha...

Even when you tell them that you are a large company they still don't reply with any info, they just send emails. I doubt they do make engines, I reckon it is a spam scam.

Cameron, I was just thinking you could always keep the 12 inch wheels fitted with light truck tyres for heavy work. It doesn't take long to change 4 wheels if needed. you could then argue that you are responsible by using truck tyres when necessary. It always comes down to a Police officers discreti...

Just put the wheels and tyres you want on it. These vans are so uncommon I doubt there will be a cop anywhere that would know the 600kg van is supposed to have light truck tyres. I got pulled up by cops for speeding (94 kmh) and I said to them. "No way, these vans have a 970cc engine with a top...

Ken says that if you have cables to your gearbox then you have a 5 speed, I don't know about that but if you have a Super Carry you must have a 5 speed box surely.

I might be wrong but I believe that only the Super Carry came out with the 5 speed and that was behind the F10A 970cc engine so I doubt whether the F8A had a 5 speed.

You will find an SU with the bolt holes on an angle that will align with the Carry's pattern, even the bore will be the same. The big issue is the top of the SU will need to come into the cabin. You'll see what I mean. If you can avoid that post it here, I love the SU carby. Maybe Ben can help us ou...

You just need a 5 speed box. I know that if my Super Carry was only a 4 speed I would not enjoy it anywhere near as much as I do with the 5 speed; as a matter of fact I would have sold it. 4th is only for steep hills.
