Re: Central Locking Door Jam Grommet

Any of the automotive parts stores will be able to supply the grommets. I put most of my wiring into convoluted, split tube but door wiring can often be better in PVC tube(clear hose) like you'll find at the hardware.

Re: Free, Real Performance Boost

Don't apply anything to the terminals until leads are in place & secure - the corrosion inhibitor/grease or whatever can cause resistance. Clean terminals & leads, assemble then protect for best result. I had a similar situation with my Jackaroo recently. Diode pack died & no part was av...

Re: Loud tapping after replacing Head Gasket

I'd list the wife on ebay as well as the car/s. No woman will separate me from my interests... just trying would cost her.

Re: Towbar kit

Won't be easy to find my towbar pics - they were in the tamon.org gallery...just not sure where I put my copies. I do need to take my tow bar off to fix some rust in the rear beaver panel so more pics will be taken eventually.

Re: 800cc auto gearing vs 800cc manual gearing

The 800 auto will sit on 110 for ages but happier to sit on 100. Fuel consumption good at 90 - 95 but starts dropping as you go faster (sitting 2 -3 seconds back behind a large bodied truck helps heaps, no need to get right up on the tailgate). My 800 auto was fairly thirsty, I put that down to livi...

Re: Towbar kit

Aside from second hand, you won't find a towbar made for a MightyBoy as they were not rated for towing. The Hatch on the other hand was rated & some companies still have ability to supply. I have an Aranda Towbars Suzuki Hatch unit on my MB that was acquired second hand. I had very little diffic...

Re: G10 Engine Swap Compendium (What you may get yourself in

Do the different G10 engines have interchangeable parts? Head for example. Mine is going back together with a tin top (early) G10a with a worked head, cam (unknown) & Hitachi carb(possibly from Datto 1600 or Pulsar) driving through a 5 speed from a series 2 or 3 Swift. An alloy block would light...

Re: arklan f8c engine swap

Check the wheel cylinders for leaks. If all good, check the master cylinder. Master does not necessarily have to leak externally for the said symptoms to exist, could be as simple as pitting in the bore &/or worn buckets/seals. Wheel cyls should still be avail. as a new item at the local parts s...

Re: F5A block to replace F8B

Run a search on 'matiz' or 'F8C' & you will find the answer - one of the members has done an F8C transplant. There is also info in http://www.teammightyboy.com/workshop/3 ... onversions. I have also seen a post on new parts available from an ATV supplier in the last week.

Re: F5A block to replace F8B

The blocks differ in bore (of course). Past posts have indicated that although very similar, there is limited crossover compatibility. The forums search function should bring up at least some of those past posts.

Re: oil leaks

I cured my rocker cover leak by buying a molded (polyurethane I think) gasket & using silicone to glue it to the cover - just don't over do the silicone & let it cure before tightening the bolts. I taped mine in place & sat it gasket down on a sheet of newspaper. Cork gaskets don't like ...

Re: Engine starts on one piston then slowly the others fire

Iridium plugs last longer - unless you have some sort of really high output ignition, the iridiums you have should go for years & just need an occasional clean up. They were designed for the more modern engines with insane ignition output figures that melt/burn ordinary plugs out fairly quickly ...

I would think it could be used on an auto but tuning may be slightly different & there is something in my memory saying vacuum lines might be different but there will be a way around that.

Re: loosing coolant - f8b

Absolutely not - you will be back to him with another problem soon after removing it. Part of the thermostats job is to slow the flow of coolant so it has a chance to be cooled as it passes through the radiator. Remove the thermostat completely & the coolant speed increases thus reducing the rad...
