Re: Building for boost

My EFI F8B got a tune on 5psi wastegate pressure which pushed out 34kw ATW, wound the boost up to 8psi and made 41kw ATW. 5psi is great compared to an N/A setup and I felt a hell of a difference going to 8psi that I wish I went up to 10psi :snigger:.

Re: Mattys Mightyboy

The ute looks fantastic Matt, very clean and the ute lid has certainly topped it off! :thumbup1:
Here are my door cards re-done in a cloth/foam material. If I had to do them again I'd use factory style clips for a cleaner look.

Re: Front bar

Currently running 14's with 165/55/14 tyres. Hard to get a decent tyre in that size as its not a common profile to run. Only 1 tyre shop had them so I was pretty lucky to get some.

Re: Front bar

I'd say a few people have mounted them different to others. For my setup I cut the front of the guard off and folded/welded a flat lip for the bar to then meet up and sit flat on. I made a little tab coming from the guards and used the factory bar side mounts. For the front I bent up a couple of 90 ...

Re: Mat's '88 Mighty Boy.

Thanks Matt, It's fairly tidy but no doubt I'll change things up a bit when the shell swap happens haha. Definitely pissing off the heavy-ass sub box that's behind the seats for starters. Thanks for the positive comment Tony :thumbup1:

Re: Mat's '88 Mighty Boy.

The inside floor has now been stripped back to bare metal and primed. I used about 4 different wire wheels to get to all areas and knocked out out the seam sealer while I was at it. I'm leaning towards a Mobile soda blaster for the underside but not too sure for rest of the body just yet. The inside...

Re: F6a temp sensor

My Manifold is running a CT sensor from a Suzuki Baleno G16B and is a M14x1.5 thread size. Not sure if the F6A Manifold I'm using has the same size threads as the Jimny spec Manifold though.

Re: Mat's '88 Suzuki Mighty Boy Project.

Yeah no wonder they aren't a common seat to put in, didn't think of the lack of room width wise when dropped lower to the floor. I'll check it out anyway and see how tight they are as I have always liked 'Suzuki' seats in a Suzuki.

Re: Mat's '88 Suzuki Mighty Boy Project.

Thanks guys! I have made these seat mounts factory spec but they aren't welded in just yet. I would like to eventually run with GTI seats which is why I haven't finalised the mounts. I'm also aware of the height difference in the seat base which for me (not being tall) is no big deal, it's more the ...

Re: Mat's '88 Suzuki Mighty Boy Project.

I have removed the factory sound deadener and have since fixed a crack in the floor behind the passenger seat which I'd say was from jacking up in the wrong place or running over something just enough to pierce the floor pan. IMG_5610.JPG IMG_5611.JPG IMG_5612.JPG IMG_5614.JPG I have re-made the rea...

Mat's '88 Mighty Boy.

Well my long awaited build thread is finally here, get ready for Pic's and lots of details! I have been motivated to work on my other MB shell that will in time replace the current '86BOY' body. It'll basically be a re-shell with all my good bits going onto the good body. This particular MB is actua...

Re: The resurrection of 'Special Ed'

Damn! Watanabes would look great on it, Special Ed is sure to look extra special. Couldn't imagine the ride would have been the best with 17's and the lowest profile tyres but I guess its not daily driven.

Re: The resurrection of 'Special Ed'

Really sucks to hear you don't have the motivation, especially down your way with it being chilly when winter is over. I'm stuck up here with bad rainy weather which is enough to stop me from doing anything to my other Boy. I actually thought those wheels were being restored to go on the Snot Rocket...
