Re: Speedo Sensor?
http://i1166.photobucket.com/albums/q620/zuffen/IMG_0358_zpsf20zeccl.jpg Pity its upside down! These are all VDO guages and I built Hall effect reluctor out of exhaust pipe and a Falcon ignition module to give me 4 pulses per revolution of the tailshaft. This is in a 2013 Homebuilt vehicle on Full ...

Re: Speedo Sensor?
I've installed a few digital speedos and can advise: VDO needs a square wave and Speco will run on a sine wave. A square wave is easy to set up using the ignition module from a Falcon as sold by Jaycar. If you wanted to go that way I could post photos of my setup (it's not on a Mighty Boy) but it wo...

Re: Speedo Sensor?
Being a reed switch it's most likely putting out a sine wave pattern and not a square wave pattern.
You would need to ensure whatever speedo you plan on using will work with the signal you're getting out of the senor, once you've determined the wave pattern.

Re: Engines.
Double check there isn't a 800kg limit on engine capacity.
I know in NSW a vehicle under 800kg can't use the full allowance.

Re: WTB Tailgate and NSF Guard
I sorted the front guard out and now looking at the tailgate trying to work out if it can be salvaged.
I've located a tailgate in Melbourne but getting it to Sydney is proving a bit difficult as my parts mover doesn't go close to the tailgate supplier.

Re: Fan placement?
A fan is more efficient when pulling air than pushing it.
That said a 10" fan should provide more than enough air flow.
If it was me I'd have it behind the radiator.

Astro Boy Bonnet
I purchased this bonnet off a fellow Forum Member as our's is a little too rusty. http://i1166.photobucket.com/albums/q620/zuffen/IMG_0610_zpszbdm42ne.jpg We intended to strip and paint it but after seeing it in the flesh we may just keep it as is. Astro Boy is airbrushed and the bonnet is signed by...

Re: Sound deadening, Thoughts?
I used a foam based insulation that is self adhering on a past project and it was quite effective at stopping panel vibration without weighing too much. As weight is our enemy I plan on using the foam again (I got it off eBay) in the doors, the rear panel and under the roof. I have factory fitted in...

Re: ICV discussion
I built and registered an ICV in NSW in 2013. Not a MB rather a Mitsubishi L300 with an LS3 in the rear.
Engineering cost me $9,000 and took 15 months.
You have to be brave and prepared to spend heaps to go ICV.

Re: Introduce yourself!
My name is Rod and I live on Sydney's Upper North Shore. My Son, Lachlan, who is 22 purchased a sad Mighty Boy sans engine and gearbox. We purchased a Matiz to wreck and use as much of the mechanical and interior components as possible. I've built cars before, and own a L300 Mitsubishi chopped into ...
