different wheel sizes

Postby Breyten » Tue Apr 17, 2012 12:33 am

after sitting on a stack of wheels at my brother-in-laws place, I noticed they were 4x114.3 (4x4.5").

so grabbed one, and had the old baldy busted off.

i have 155 width tyres mounted on 13x5.5"(i think)

Sorry, forgot to add.

The datto wheels are +22 offset, so a bit more spaced out, and the 7" width on top of that.

They seem to fit as far as clearance and steering goes. In that pic it is sitting on a piece of wood, approximately tyre thickness.

Obviously though there is an issue of clearing the guards. Tbh i just wanted to have a look at how the +22 sat! :snigger:

Has me calculating though that an ideal size would be 14x5.5/6" +22.

Thoughts/pics of other crazy trial fits/laughter?? :stupid:

15x7 ftw, ive got a set of 15x7 simmons on mine, but alot of guard modding is required front and rear to get them to clear with mine as low as it is.

before and after gaurd mods;

Nice!
What offset are they?

Went and read your build thread, how easily did the rears flare out? If you had to do it again, would you consider any other ways? (thinking because you had to re-fab the rear quarters..)

Love the stretched look, but would be too worried about kerb rash or breaking the bead. :)

The ride would be rough as guts with so much stretch. Does look phat though.

I've got 15 x 6.5 35 offset on mine. The rears fit fine and only had to roll the lip on the front guards. It's not lowered though

i drive it everyday, its not that bad. to get the tyre tucked as much as i have needs some pretty serious hammering, as you have to allow for susp travel. but in saying that i havnt added any material to the rear for the flares.
i didnt cut the rear 1/4's off to fit the wheels, they have been damaged for years i just finally got around to fixing them! i had the wheels on for quite a while before i did those repairs.

i did workout the offset of the wheels, ill chase that up again and post it tomorrow

the stretch isnt even that bad, im going 8" wide rim soon with the same tyres as soon as i can chase down the rims i want.
