I bought my new oil pump from them when my engine was rebuilt.
I had quite a long chat about the engines, more so the fuel injection side of things, They said there was a problem with the electronics, he did tell me what it was but I cant remember  and they where not happy with the supplier at all regarding this issue. They where hoping to get it resolved but where not holding there breath.

The price was less than a total reconditioned engine. I remember I was told around the $1300 mark. This was a few months ago when I got the oil pump which was approx $130.

That sounds pretty good Husky, even if you factor in an aftermarket ECU to ignore their electronic issues.

They are f8b with wiring , My offsider is in Taiwan this week, in the long run it is sometimes easier to ship through there than the mainland. Off the top of my head, I think they could be landed in AUS for about AUS $1500. Look at the picture, what you see is what you get. The only clarification I am lacking is the what is included in the wiring loom. That is I want to see the circuitry in western terminology

Interesting that it has higher compression than a Japanese F8B, yet it produces 5kw less and is rated to only 5500RPM.

These engines often find their way into locally made jet ski's in the Us mid west.If you get into it, I can also provide a list of similar products that you would be well advised to not engage with. As a child, and yes I did in fact start off as a child, I heard the term "JAP CRAP". Sometimes true, but as time passed, increasingly silly. Perhaps we are in the China phase of that sort of discourse. I,We have dealt with these people. Their English skills leave a bit to be desired, but since my 18 stone red headed Aussy offsider is fluent in written and spoken Chinese, it is not much of a worry. Having said that, while I am not prepared to risk my reputation by attesting to the absolute validity of the stated data put forth on those engines it would be very much inconsistent with their overall record if they were not well grounded in there documented testing results.

Bill,
What about just sourcing of parts or components?
Looking at that picture the injection is into the intake manifold, rather than thru-head. Still uses distributor for ignition, so not too much of a step from the standard F8B.

The injection setup looks much like a Matiz. There seems to be three injectors into the head and you can see the fuel rail and pressure reg. Even the Matiz still has a dizzy. The electronic ignition is where you'll get most of the power increase, the fuel injection just gives you better fuel metering over the whole rev range and better idle control.

I dare say the lower rpm limit is due to crappy conrods. Probably made from old pushbikes and coke cans.
