So I read the DIY guide and orderd up a crane came xr700
But when I went to look over it my coil set up seems to be in a mess.
Like I have 2 ballast resistors and some other stuff going on. Can I remove all this and replace with a su12 coil and just one of the resistors?

Dropping resistor wasn't used in my set up just ran the su12 transformer coil straight 12v and its been sweet, those aftermarket dropping resistors in your set pic looks like the used a different coil at some stage to the factory 3 pin type. Which have different internal resistance

As above: if you convert to 12V electronic ignition and remove the points you don't need ballast resistors.

I have a two pin coil on it just now is that the wrong coil then? It's had it on for two years now haha
So can I just use the two pin coil already on the car for the conversion just without the resistors?

what is the coil part number, you need a 3 ohm coil to not use the dropping resistor.

it dose run now with the kit on and this c80r coil with resistor removed, but will it last ?

nope thats a bad idea, resistor is there to limit the current, either non resistor type coil or set it up with the resistor

The guy didn't know what a su12 coil was/is
Will a gt40 coil be ok? I'm sure I remember somone talking about that being ok to use.

GT40 will work, but not GT40R.
I use an MSD Blaster, and it makes a noticeable difference on my EFI F8B.
