Re: Crazy stero systems
Just bought a MightyBoy today
I am heavily into the car audio side of things and installs but sound quality, not spl...
It's good that there is so much space behind the seats for an elaborate amp rack or showy install, looking forward to turning my daily into a comfortable car like my old cappuccino was. So much gear lying around waiting to put to good use!
My interior of my old cappuccino after I had almost finished it:

my audio build has stalled till i can get my house projects done (building my new shed, then a patio then a spare room)
have all the gear sitting here just need the time to do it.....
what gear will you be putting in??

I have a friend who is a trimmer who does all the show cars for Alpine etc, me and a friend fiberglassed the dash top and I made all the metal pieces and polished them
For the speakers I'm undecided - maybe Dynaudio or Focal Beryllium... Amps might be Class A Soundstreams or the DaVinci I have sitting here

ill take a pic when i see it at the show and shine again, mightyboy with 240volt converter, one mtx jackhammer in the tray in a custom made box, 6 mtx thunder series 6x9's behind seat with 4 mtx thunder series subs behind seats, plus amps capacitors and colourfull lights that went off to the bass. looked horrible but sounds awsome.

I agree that quality is better than volume. i have a pretty good system that has been pieced together out of my brothers car. he has gone well in the with his car in old and keeps.upgrading. i have recently built some custom fiberglass kick panel pods for.the fronts and need to get creative or the tweeters up high. any pics or ideas would be great. i have all alpine gear including ddlinear speakers front and rear . need to offset rears as they fire towards each other. once i get my amp.back i will be happier.

Re: Crazy stero systems
So Guys, anyone got any latest installs finished or building photos?
Trying to sort out a system for the hatch.
Question for the gurus:
If I run 2 12" in the back and being such a small car can I get away with a set of good splits in the doors or will I need speakers in the rear aswell, im after quality over just noise. Don't want to fork out a heap of cash and buy a heap of speakers I don't need.
Also I've read in here the charging system is pretty small, so with that I'm guessing I should jump up to the EF falcon Alt upgrade and a bigger battery? (Note, I'm running a F5A)
Anyone got a Alternator they want to get rid of?
Capacitators, what are they used for? I've seen them in shops and in installs, no idea why they are there. Any info in basic terms?
Cheers Guys!

If you're after balanced sound then you only need one sub in the back and splits in the front - all amplified. Sound from rear speakers gets turned to mush by the sub frequencies. A cap takes charge from the battery and stores it to discharge when the amp is drawing high load. Not needed for most installs if you have a good battery.

ive allways done one thing with all my installs ive allways ran splits in the front and a set of 6x9's in the back just to help balace the sound i dont know how your setup is but you can get away with just 2 12's and a set of 6x9's behind the seats in an mb and still have a descent sound produced.
