The difference is that the engine in an LJ is upright, but slanted in the Carry van. This would put a Cappuccino gearbox on the wrong angle to install the shifter.

What you would need is the gearbox from an SK413.

I thought I'd chime in, as your facing most of the same problems that I dealt with.

The SK413 is the "new" 2000 model carry van that came standard with a G13BB engine (SOHC 1.3L that runs on an angle to clear the seats).

The key here is that the box is designed to connect to a motor that is slanted from factory. If you ran a sierra box that was rolled at the same angle (quite an angle!) you may run into oiling issues...

Heres a pic of the SK413 box behind my G15A block in my super carry:

Motor runs on an angle and the box is vertical. By using this box I was able to use the standard SK413 starter, flywheel, clutch.
