Hi I have a 1986 Suzuki Carry Japanese import 4wd truck or ute with a blown F6A engine. I have just bought a low mileage Carry van with a F8A engine and a four speed box. I want to put this engine into the Carry ute keeping the five speed and the four wheel drive. I believe this is possible with some modifications? Does anyone know what the modifications are please? Cheers, Gerald.

As far as I know you can't install a 4 cylinder in place of the 3 cylinder in 4WD models because there's not enough room.

Hi Brayden meaning I can fit a F8B engine but not a F8A engine? As far as I am aware you may have to lose the 4wd and front axle? which will mean doing up my engine and selling the van?.
Cheers,
Gerald.

An F8B should theoretically work, the block is the same width, just slightly taller. I'm not sure if you'd need to modify the oil galleries in the head for the slant config of a Carry engine bay.
