Just a quick update on the F2T injector front...

I haven't gotten around to test fitting the injectors to my f6a (DOHC & SOHC) engines yet, but I have found some interesting stuff about them....

You can find these injectors on a MX6, 626GT, Ford Probe, Ford Telstar/TX5, there is a difference between the years however;

Denso Part Numbers;
88-89 : #195500-1650, 12.6ohm, 324cc @ 3bar

90-92 : #195500-2150, 13.7ohm, 326cc @ 3bar

Although they have different shapes and parts number they pretty much flow at the same rate; 2cc difference at 3bar...bugger all....the main difference is a different plug type.

Due to my other projects these holidays I don't think I will get around to test fitting these injectors.... :(

If someone else has a f6a and is wanting know if they fit I am more than willing to post you a set of 3 from the 88-89 model turbo and and set from my non-turbo 90-92 which has the same dimensions as the turbo ones with a lower flow rate.

I have made some rough measurements, but ideally they should be test fitted....

#Neck to the fuel rail - 10mm diameter, 15mm length without rubber seat, ~9.5mm length with the rubber seat (dimensions same for both versions)
#Neck to inlet manifold:- 88-89 model, 9mm diameter, 11mm long without rubber seat, 6mm long with rubber seat.
#Neck to inlet manifold:- 90-92 model, 8.5mm diameter, 11mm long without rubber seat, ?mm long with rubber seat.
Overall length 77mm (same for both injectors)

F6A SOHC turbo - as we've established DOHC/SOHC are the same.

I've just bought a set of '90 model Mazda 323 injectors, I'll see how they measure up when they arrive and let everyone know.

The injectors arrived today, and are identical in size/shape/connector to the ones on my F6A. Unfortunately I looked up the part number and they're only 190cc. Would be fine for N/A but not turbo. Ike is going to send me his 626 injectors, so I might get the whole lot cleaned and flow tested to see what they are really capable of.

Bummer, 190cc another 100cc would be good.
It will be interesting to see what the 626 injectors do though.

One of the guys on Clubcappo found this link to a really informative table on fuel injectors.

OK the go is Toyota Starlet injectors. A couple of guys with cappo's have used them with good results.

Below is from a clubcapo thread.

"I bought a set of 4 from one of the newer starlet turbos. I've not fitted them yet, so I'm not sure whether I'll have any problems with them. They are high impedence like the cappo ones and use the same connector (they are denso).
The bodies are slightly different sizes, but all the important dimensions seem to match up. They also have 2 apertures in the metal cap rather than one, so the orientation they are installed in might be important.

They are rated at 300cc/min at 3 bar operating pressure. The denso part code is: 23250-11060.

Pressure kg/cm^2 Flow cc/min

2.55 290

3.05 320

3.55 345 "

That's good news, but unfortunately turbo Starlets aren't exactly abundant in Australia! :lol:

More abundant the Cappuccino's though and being Toyota most probably easier to get :lol:

Should be a direct fit as long as they are the high resistance ones.

had my F2T injectors flowed and cleaned today....

Flowing was done at 50% duty cycle for 30secs at 3bar. All injectors measured 13ohms of resistance.

before cleaning they flowed;
1 - 82ml (spray good but, leaking) - 328cc
2 - 82ml (spray poor but, leaking) - 328cc
3 - 84ml (spray good, not leaking) - 336cc
4 - 85ml (spray good but, leaking) - 340cc

after clean;
1 - 90ml (spray excellent, not leaking) - 360cc
2 - 90ml (spray excellent, not leaking) - 360cc
3 - 90ml (spray excellent, not leaking) - 360cc
4 - 90ml (spray excellent, not leaking) - 360cc

360cc might be a bit too much for the f6a?????
witchhunter's injector calculator says they would be good for about 140bhp...when being conservative.
http://www.witchhunter.com/injectorcalc1.php4

The injector guy was quite surprised at how much they flowed, he was expecting something more in the 320cc range :D :D
These will being going straight on the mazda and I will have the current ones on the mazda cleaned and flowed...and put on the f6a.
