can't believe i got engineered, blueslipped and registered the day before, stayed up all night prepping and packing the car and had to turn back at Campbeltown!

Turns out one of the concerning noises was a broken radiator fan mount causing the fan to flap and hit against other items in the engine bay.

No damage but no wonder I was concerned by the noises i was hearing :-o

Have to make it to the next events!

Thanks for a great weekend everyone! Thanks Tez for a great cruise on Saturday, was the first time i really ever got to drive an MB after 8 years of owning, but not quite getting around to regoing one! Thanks to everyone who helped "fix up" my Car for the Cruise on Saturday.. and waiting for me to catch up when we were actually on it!
I'll be away from the net for a while, so i'll post up my photos at a later date..

Awww Shucks!

Such nice words from everybody - makes me feel all warm & fuzzy.

I'm really stoked that everyone had such a good time... - Next year we'll have dinner on the Friday night better sorted...

I do think we'll have to do it again next year. That drive around Lake Hume is not too boring to be forced into driving it once a year...

From a planning perspective I think the weekend went well - enough things on for those that needed something to do, and yet not so much that people felt stressed to attend... We had a few things on - not everybody attended all activities (which was fine) and we had a few attendees strike troubles forcing them out of some, but they got themselves sorted in time to participate in others.

I haven't heard of anybody befalling disaster on the way home - most likely the biggest disaster occurred to me (I had a tyre rupture about 50k's from home - no biggie - popped the spare on and away I went).

I was really stoked at how well we all got along - I loved how accepting of people everybody was, and how attendees would just waltz up and dive into resolving issues some members were having with their cars, and also, how the owners of those cars had enough trust & faith to allow us to meddle with their pride & joy...

I don't think a weekend of meeting nice people, driving, changing over an alternator & partial rewire, a front-end alignment, a carby rebuild, a door handle repair, a replacement set of points fitted (in the dark) and another carby adjustment - and that's only the things I know of - in one weekend is a bad effort! :D

The two big things I took away from this weekend were:
1. That I got to have a whole weekend of fun in my MB, and
2. That I got to meet several more people from this excellent forum.

Looking forward to 2011... :D

Cheers

P.S. Of course, if you've got ideas of things we can do to make it even better next year, I'm all ears...

Says you...

Mark's Bike looked right at home amongst the other Suzukis

"Cervo"... Hmmm... that's a.... "Suzuki" ! - Hey ! now there's a co-incidence!

(So no excuse next year! )

None of my cruises are ever "Mighty Boy Exclusive"... :-o

You'd have been welcome. (& will be next year!)

Cheers

Rocking up in anything, just so you can be there is cool. I almost didn't have mine going for the trip, and was going to do it in the ford if i had to. The points run great on the way home, I've greased them up (again) and it's running well.

Cheers

There's a distinct line that says anything with more than 4 cylinders should be left at home. :P
