Was doing a tune up on the boy today when a neighbour walking past asked if I would like to buy a service manual for my car. I obviously said I was interested and about 15 minutes later was the proud owner of an Alto service manual. Who said they were hard to find?

Alto or Hatch workshop manual? I didn't know that an Alto version existed. Is it for the 543 or 800cc model?

I've got both the 543 and 800cc Hatch manuals here, just need time to finish scanning them in - at which point they will be available for all. 8)

Definitely Alto manual printed July 1985, about 330 pages. Only reference to engine size is F5A in picture showing location of engine number. Didn't the Mightyboys come with an Alto service manual and a Mightyboy supplement?

Hang on a sec, do you have the "owners" manual or the "workshop" manual? 330 pages sounds like a workshop manual to me, and I had no idea such a thing existed for the Alto.

The MightyBoy was sold with an Alto owners manual and MightyBoy supplement, but these only covered basic operation and maintenance.
The Hatch workshop manuals cover everything from changing brake pads through to rebuilding the engine and gearbox. There is no workshop manual for the MightyBoy though.

Well I'll be buggered! First I've ever seen of that - it looks just the same as the Hatch version only I'm guessing it would combine the disc brakes and F5A info that are spanned across the two Hatch manuals.

Veddy interestink!
