Blowing smoke is always bad. Judging by the age and condition of that Alto, it's most likely oil smoke from worn-out piston rings and valve stem seals.

No idea. Most F5As are terminal at around 150,000kms - less if it hasn't been looked after.

None that springs immediately to mind as I revel in my post-working-week alcoholism. Image

Any other takers? Image

I don't have an answer for you. Be patient and wait for someone else to post on the thread rather than getting all sh*tty at me. Image

Was the carby removed from the car and sent away for reconditioning, or did leave the car at a workshop while the carburettor was reconditioned? :?:

I would have thought it was obvious that reconditioning the carby could not possibly affect the fuel gauge they are completely separate.
Fill it to the top, do say 200k then fill it again, that will give you an idea of it's economy, or else run till empty (Absolutely empty, not just indicated) then stick in fuel from a 4 litre can and see how the gauge reads, then top it up 4 litres at a time checking the gauge as you go.

hey mowog, i cant really fill it up or take it for 200k spin as its a paddock basher it isnt registered and i cant get a 30 litre drum of fuel, so yeah but i put 10 in the old carbie and it filled it up half way and fuel economy was good but when i stick the new carbie on put 10 in it fills it uo quater way and it drinks fuel more than a 1.3litre Toyota Corolla 75 mod.

Well, run it bone dry, then put in 4 litres, check gauge, put in another 4 litres, check gauge, and so on till it is full. That will indicate how accurate the gauge is.Remember you are hammering it around a paddock, with a more powerful carbie now it is recon, probably in 1st or 2nd all the time, you will use a lot more fuel.
