If you check out the media section of the TAMON site ( http://www.tamon.org/?page=media ) you will notice that I've added a scan of an article from a 1985 issue of Modern Motor magazine. Have a read and let the rest of us know what you think! There will hopefully be more articles to come real soon ;)

Well written! I think they summed the little critters up nicely.

It's very nice to read about the tiny utes in the context of their '85 release... :)

My only real critisism was of the choppy ride comments. Throw some weight in the back like it should have (it is a ute after all!) and the ride becomes heaps smoother.

But yes, its interesting to see the first Australian opinions of the utes and how they compare to what people think of them today.

Gee... I thought the comments on ride were entirely justified... :)
The MightyBoy's worst point is its awful ride on anything less than perfect roads...
Image to that!

That being said, in response to your comment that the ute, being a ute, should have some weight in back, I think we should start a tally of how many Commodore utes we see carrying loads in the tray during our daily travels and see how this compares with the Commodore utes we encounter with untouched virgin trays! :D

I would be interested in that for sure. If you could scan the mag at 150dpi and send the jpgs to admin@tamon.org I'll post them up for everyone to see. :)
