Does anyone know if a Swift / Cultis front cv will fit the alto?
They appear to be the same size externally including the front hubs and carriers.
My local CV shop advised there are 3 different inner spline sizes on the cv that fits onto the axle?
I found an earlier Swift but not sure if the inner spline is small enough?
:)

Depends what model Alto you're talking about. CA71V is identical to SA series Swift and Swift GTi (also the same as Hatch and MightyBoy too).

If someone can measure the axle diameter and spline count I will try and confirm.

I fitted new CV joint to the RSR it was the smalest size of the 3 they measure the spline by diameter in the catalogs. I think it was 18mm dia from memory. Had to cut the old one off those circlips can sure get stiuck in! I also used a rear axle bearing from a Ford cortina to replace the r/h axle support bearing because i couldnt find one the right size. The cortina bearing is only 1mm narrower so i made 1mm spacers for the outer and inner races and it worked well. The bearing size is 72x35x25 wide the cortina was 24 wide.
