Hey guys, haven't posted for ages, but still reading. My hatch shat itself on the highway coming home from forster in the hols (back to newcastle). It wouldn't go into 4th. Was a long trip home and then I hung up the keys to it. It's now sitting in the back of the garage, and i'm very ashamed to say that I'm now driving a mitsubishi nimbus around instead.

Alright, end of intro.

I have done the jets and the link for secondary throttle, and now since its unregistered I have taken the muffler off.(Just for shits and giggles) I took it off from the resonator back. What do I need to do to get it to run proper with this off?? Does the timing need to be advanced?? Should I just put the muffler back on?!?!

Sounds like a harley too!!! :D :D :D :D

To my knowledge there is two-tenths of fück-all difference in the adjustment of ignition timing and the carby required when running a shorter exhaust system. The real gains to be made here are in running a different cam, and in your case it's simply not worth the cost.

Yeah, wouldn't make any difference if you adjusted anything. I'd be more worried about carbon monoxide poisoning from the fumes circulating under the car and getting into the cabin.

My advice would be to do what we did to Josh's ute - hack off the rear muffler and put on a bit of straight pipe. ;)
F8B EFI turbo - Three pots and a snail.

And hang about 6 inches of pushbike tube off it.
