Would anyone know where is the "F5A" marking on the Alto Works block? I can find the engine number (same position as F5A and F8B) but cannot locate "F5A" anywhere on the block.

It should either be under the exhaust or inlet manifolds. You don't need that casting for engineering though, the engine number stamp starts with F5A anyway.

If I remember correctly, it's under the inlet manifold towards the timing cover area, I found this while trying to find the engine number for rego in Vic way back in the day for my brother.
As holk stated, there is only a 6 digit number stamped way back on the block, pretty hard to see.

Hope this helps.

Cheers

Same with my motor it has only the 6 digit number. It should be located under the inlet manifold written sidewards in big letters maybe in the middle cylinder bore? It is also raised letters.
