Hi all,

Just wanted to check, that the MB engines fit into a Alto.
I know that the alto goes into an MB, but i noticed that the MB's have a extra engine mount at the top rear that attaches to the firewall.

Cheers

Craig,

The mounts are the same for the F5A. If installing an F8B there is an extra engine stabiliser which should come anyway with the engine craddle setup.

Sorry, you said "firewall" I thought "strut mount". The hatch has the rear mount on the firewall, at least the one I used, had it.

No you cannot put an MB engine into an Alto because the motor is missing the casting for the front engine mount.

Steady on! You asked if an MB engine would go in an Alto - that MB has an 800cc engine which means it isn't standard and could have come from an Alto.

... and you know what that means. ;) I'd be calling the guy and taking a look at it, see what the motor is out of.
