Hi all, I have just picked up a 1986 mighty boy in pretty good condition but it had been sitting for a while. First of all no fuel so after fixing the fuel pump then it was too much fuel. I pulled the carby apart and found the the float had broken up and as such the engine was flooding. Just wondering where I would start looking for a new float?? Wreckers are very light on up here in Townsville and a search of the internet hasn't brought anything up other than rebuild kits.

The engine is the f5a and the carby is a Mikuni twin barrel. Any help would be appreciated. I have attached a couple photos of the beast as well.

Cheers
Paul

Hi,

I'm pretty sure there is an old suzuki alto sitting out at the wreckers with a complete F5A in it, if i get time tomorrow i can go check it out and what he wants for it if that helps??

Also depending on time as i'm heading away for work shortly, i can have it rebuilt for you as well.

Cheers,

Al

Al, that would be great if you could ask, I dont need a rebuild as the carby that I have looks like it has recently been done. If you want PM me some bank details I can pop some money into you account today to cover the cost of purchase and postage.

Cheers

Got a dud F5a carbie here, I'll have a look see if the float is worth mailing to you once I find it - might need a couple of days. If I don't PM you by Monday night, remind me.
If the float is okay it's yours for cost of postage.

A good carby rebuilding joint should be able to supply a new float for you. I picked up a new one when i rebuilt my F8b carby from a place near highpoint, i think it's called highpoint carbies & efi. They are down here in Vic tho.

BTW, very tidy looking mighty boy! Nice score.

Cheers

I thought that you guys might appreciate some updated photos. I got a grill for it and put on a set of rims that I had lying around from my sprinter. They are a little on the large side but they look the part :)
