Just a note for those thinking of painting over the existing paint or your boys.
I have spent the day working on the rear right quarter panel. It is absolutely amazing just how many rust "worms" have gotten under the original paint work. The paint is just sooo incredibly thin that these spots occur randomly all over the body.

Rusting MBs
Luckily for me I had absolutely no rust found on my ute come spray time - damn I love Canberra's climate!
F8B EFI turbo - Three pots and a snail.
yeah, good point Col. Most MB's have had at least 1 dodgy paint job though, covering those little critters.
But I have actually got quite a few (not as many as underbody) on the top on my bonnet & roof which aren't from chips.
I have seen this happen also to a much newer white mira. When the paint was let to go slightly powdery & dull (read no cleaning for years), red dots started to appear on surfaces which had water standing on them...
One good thing though. The paint is incredibly easy (comparite to other cars) to get off should you do that bare metal job...

Wish I could say the same for my little truck...Brayden wrote:Luckily for me I had absolutely no rust found on my ute come spray time - damn I love Canberra's climate!
