I must of mistaken, when doing 60 it indicates 50. Its just really far out. But its not like at different speeds it goes way out and others its right.

Three things you need to calculate:

Speedo drive ratio/teeth
Gear final ratio/wheel diameter
Speedo display ratio/teeth

Might be easier to just use a GPS unit for now.

I'v got all the calculations except the drive one, which is in the gearbox. I have the speedo teeth which is 13, the revs per km which from memory was 637 and tyre size. Would the gearbox one be the teeth on the crown wheel? or something else. I'v used the gps to get what speed i need to be doing, its all in my head, i would just rather it tell me the correct speed, especially if someone else is driving and i didnt tell them how far out it is. Maybe i should try different size speedo ends, the shaft with the teeth on it, but i doubt any other car ones would work, maybe matiz.

You could 'photoshop' the dial faces to move the speed increments where you need them.

This alto one has the whole panel in one, so would require abit more fiddling. I was messing around with the mighty boy one, seeing if i could put a rev and speedo in it with the fuel and temp gauges staying where they are.

so at 95 it reads 80, why re-calibrate it, sounds like its informing you of the speed just fine, so long as you remember to recalculate :)

For you to be doing 120km/h the speedo would be reading 100km/h.

It's basic maths isn't it? Actual speed is 20% higher than the reading?
