Gearbox Leaking but from where?

hey guys our mb has started leaking gear oil lately. its dripping from the selector but i cant see exactly where. is it likelt to be an expensive fix? or something easy like just a seal?? any help would be appreciated thanks

selector shaft seal is a common one, not exactly difficult to fix. bit of a pain while its in the car i assume.
If it is said seal, you need to pop off the plate on the bottom of the box, knock out the selector shaft roll pin and slide the shaft out the back of the box. replace the seal and do everything in reverse to put it back together.
Someone correct me if i'm wrong.
Think there was a guide on here somewhere or its in the F8B workshop manual anyway.

Remember to drain the gearbox fluid first though.

The seal is a combo bushing/seal, so it wears out just from normal use.

Is this seal readily available/part number and approx price? Mine is leaking a litle as well.
