kinda proud of my self, can get the engine out of the 83 carry van in just over an hour.
took me 3 hours the day before on the 1985 model and got it down to an hour.
could have got it in about half the time i reckon if i had someone helping me.
engine removal time attack
I need to remove the engine from one of my MB's soon. Might film it and record the time.

its great how simple they are when putting it all back together, i have 1 vacuum line and about 4 electrical wires to connect.
that compared to my toyota soarer where its easier to unplug the loom from the computer and pull that through the fire wall rather then try and unplug every single electrical connector

When I did my EFI conversion I cut the loom in the engine bay and installed three connectors. Makes life very easy when the motor has to be removed.havabeer wrote: that compared to my toyota soarer where its easier to unplug the loom from the computer and pull that through the fire wall rather then try and unplug every single electrical connector

I ripped the motor out of Special Ed this week (by myself) to replace the gearbox. Whole process took 31 minutes using hand tools only (no rattle gun, etc). I recorded the process on camera and will put together a time lapse video for YouTube soon.
