Box might need repair on by single cam CB60, natural time to consider upgrade to twin cam CB70/80. Not sure which models of gearbox will fit the CB60 I have??

The more work done to the motor/box the better :-) Let me know if you have/see anything suitable for sale.

Hey guys, I sold my twin cam engine earlier this year - unfortunately enough - if you searched for it in google you would've found it HOWEVER...

You can find parts above that I've collected and listed.

The twincam pistons will fit into the CB (23 or 60) engines and you can do a simple throttlebody injection system for EFI.

You can't chase more than 80-100kw or you'll destroy gearboxes.

This has fallen off my radar for a bit, but still looking if anyone has details of what type of gearbox I would need to suit CB60 or has seen twincam engine/box for sale, thanks.

CB60 has the same block turbo/non turbo, so any gearbox from the equivalent Charade model should do. (Not sure about ratios though)

So ratio's aside, any charade gearbox from a 1L single cam CB motor should fit (CB23/60 etc) which I understand are 19 spline.

I understand the twin cam CB70/80 gearboxes are 21 spline, would that mean they fit the above single cam motors but require custom drive shafts between the gearboxes and wheels?

Depends on if the spline count is referring to the input shaft or driveshaft couplings.

If you're unsure about motor fitment then a good way to check is jump on the Exedy website and see if the clutches are the same.

UPDATE - as far as I can tell the non-turbo gearbox does not fit. I bought one, looked the same from the outside, mechanic said when he pulled the other box out that between the two they had little if anything the same on the inside, he said diff housings, CV's and clutch lever some of the obvious differences.

Still looking/considering replacement gearbox or place in Sydney to rebuild gearbox depending on availability of parts and price.

I noticed that there's an worked CB80 motor for sale on eBay. The price is steep but man it would create one hell of a weapon.
