hi all, so we have removed the engine and started to break it down.
The Block looks to be in good condition

We have found a few issues that need rectifying mainly in the cooling system.
I don't think that is supposed to be there!!!

No doubt you'll find plenty of blockages and corrosion in a 25+ year old engine. The joys of old cars!

True Brayden, but I wasn't expecting this much, this is a photo of the hose from the engine to the heater, took me 15 minutes to unblock it and it's only about 10cm long.
As you can see there was a lot in there.

It is sad to see the neglect some of these utes have suffered over the years. Seems like some utes have had owners who were ignorant of proper maintenance, or had no respect. One time a bloke left his MB with me to sort out an overheating problem. I flushed almost 2 kilos of mud and rust out of the cooling system.

It's ok Brayden.
She's in good hands now, well, until Jordan gets his licence and starts driving her.

Well, got the Engine paint today.
Going with a Black sump and timing gear cover and the block a Fire Engine Red (for speed only, red goes faster.)
have got nearly everything out of the engine bay, only the brake system to go, and have given the engine bay a good de-grease and it looks not to bad.
Have found some small rust patches under the front fenders so will be looking to cut them out soon as we get closer to starting the body.

Regards

Ty and Jordy
