hi, im steve. I did have a mint condition 89 dohc rsr works alto (cmv11)-untill someone pulled out infront of me on a wet road, which changed the appearance of the car

I am desperatley after
1x front turbo bar-round headlights with the square fog lights
1x drivers side front quarter panel
1x tubo bonnet
1x headlight surround/filler panel that sits between the headlight and the quarter panel at the front with the little vents in it

i realise that this might be a long shot but if anyone know where i could find these parts i would be greatly appreciated.

regards

steve

Looking at getting a front cut (for the 660cc engine & interior) and it may be possible to get one with panels.

Where are you located? Do you have any spares available? After a turbo, windscreen, and sump at present.

Also interested in how your compliancing went.

i am in Adelaide, but have a mate in frieght so i can get it sent very cheaply. let me know when you are thinking about doing this and i am happy to deposit some cash for you if you need a deposit or anything- i am in desperate need of these parts and would be so greatful.

compliancing was a breeze, well sort of! the first time i took it to regency-adelaides RTA- they said no you need side intrusion bars and a cat- along with everything else i did- the petrol restrictor, seat belts etc. In adelaide these type of cars can be complianced as a two seater commercial van whcih negates the need for side intrusion bars. this saves at least $1000 so when i took it out there the second time they got their facts straight and it took 20 mins and i was off to get my number plates, then this ifdiot pulled out in front of me and destroyed my baby's front end

Again, please let me know when you are getting this half cut-would be in your debt if you could help me out

cheers

steve

ah, we're having some large problems in victoria with compliance, registering as commercial requires load capacity tests of the cargo area, and also the IM240 emissions test ($640 because there are no cars delivered locally with same engine). I am thinking that cappucino engines may be a good way around it (F6A) and they were found in the next model alto up.

Just-Jap have a SOHC 660cc which isnt what i'm after, but hopefully if they get a DOHC 660cc in i'm set.

I may decide to get the car registered in adelaide by someone and transferred into my name after compliance. This could save lots of cash, and the emissions test is different for all variations of engine, eg. 550cc, 660cc, dohc and sohc (of each variant).

We (alpha76 and myself) have priced compliance in this manner to be around $1500 not including seat belts and child restraints. And you also say it needs a cat, something i wasnt aware of.

Any engine below 850cc and older than 1992 does not require a catalytic converter under EPA guidelines, which should be the same Australia-wide.

oti, have you tried giving Mark at SuziWorx a call? He has an F6A SOHC Alto front cut with all panels for $1500 including both an auto and manual box with accessories. If you sold the panels and whichever box you didn't want you'd offset the cost of the front cut purchase pretty well. ;)

Just paint DOHC on the rocker cover - they won't be able to tell the difference. :P

with regard to the cat converter and emmission laws- that was my understanding too- but the guy that was inspecting it really had no idea- so i thought rather than have a huge argument and not win i thought i will get a cat from the wreckre for $16.50, and weld it in- cheap price to pay for an argument free epa expeirience!!!!!!!!!!!!!

keep me posted on the panel situation- i am in desperate need-

oh and just some more news i am looking at getting the rsr awd alto aswell, found one thaty looks pretty nice, i will let you know the outcome

Can you also check out my article on compliance at http://altoworks.info/compliance and suggest any alterations/additions. Can i also encourage you to check out the forums there too, http://altoworks.info/forum/ :) Attempting to build a community of alto owners, albeit slowly.
