hey peoples,
just bought an hatch with the 800cc and an auto with 3mths rego for a $100,need to know a few things:
does the suzuki hatch dash fit in a mighty?
my mighty is 550 and manual, to change to 800 auto is it pretty much just change over subframe and bolt up or a bit more involved
cheers
matt
few questions
The dashboard will fit with some minor modifications.
So you want to convert the manual MB to auto, or just exchange the motors only?
If you want to make the manual ute an auto 800, then you will need to swap the subframe, pedals, wiring loom. The loom won't be a straight swap because the wiring between the Hatch and MB is different.

F8B EFI turbo - Three pots and a snail.
One of the most important lessons Brayden and I learned from doing the auto-to-manual conversion on my ute was that you'd never want to buggerise around doing a manual-to-auto conversion. It's a significantly bigger root-around than going the other way.
Probably easier to learn to drive a manual, or throw the F8B in on the F5A transmission and just put up with the agonisingly short gear ratios while you hunt around for a suitable transmission.

Actually doing a manual to auto conversion is pretty much identical to going from auto to manual, only you'd have to remove the dashboard to exchange the wiring looms.
What we talked about Josh was me trying to install an auto into a manual MB without the wiring loom, which would be a royal pain in the arse.
In Matt's case having an auto Hatch makes the job equally difficult because the wiring looms are different. If he had an auto MB wiring loom then the task would be much easier.

...and have a complete automatic MB wiring loom & computer controller on-hand for installtion.Brayden wrote:...only you'd have to remove the dashboard to exchange the wiring looms...
Hence the "bigger root-around" comment.

Yes, as I said:
Running wires is easy, if you have them.In Matt's case having an auto Hatch makes the job equally difficult because the wiring looms are different. If he had an auto MB wiring loom then the task would be much easier.

put 800 in with turbo kit i bought off rusty, put the slush box in so it will make it easier to play round with my airbag switches..
im not after light speed just something to get up to the speed limit quicker than standard..
if i want to go fast i will get in my series 5 rx7
thanks for the comments
