Psi wagon, did you just have to cut and pull the guards or did you need to modify the wheel tubs to make the 8s fit?

the front i didnt cut, just alot of hammer/dolly work. the rear pretty much the same, but i also had to detatch the inner guard and re-attach it once i hammered it out. the tyres are 165x45x15.

heres a better pic now with my coilovers in, just gotta sort out the rear now :D

everything needs to be modified. the ones i used are for a 02-07 WRX 04 GDB, but that really means nothing as these are in no way a bolt in item.

i only got these particular struts as they were very cheap, and i needed something alot stiffer than anything bolt-in.

$400 and a days work is pretty damn cheap compared to the $3500+ a tien rep quoted me

Whats the rating on those springs mate? They look awfully stiff!
I had to get a set of custom springs made for mine. The lowest rated off-the-shelf springs were still about 150lb too high.

Also, did you have to trim the top camber plates? I ran into that issue with the Nissan tops I used.

they are 504 lbs/in, so pretty stiff but they work well. the camber tops yeah, cut atleast half the material off and re-drilled/pressed the studs in.

still tossing up what to do in the rear, but will probably remove the leaf springs etc and make my own adjustable 4-link type rear end

500lbs? You and I must have a different opinion of stiff. I tried 300lbs in mine and it crashed over every bump in the road like the dash was going to fall out. Ended up having custom springs made at 180lbs, which is the high end of off-the-shelf progressive rate MK1 Swift from King Springs. Here's a pic for comparison:

I'll be interested to see your 4 link solution. I had similar thoughts but couldn't find anywhere to relocate the fuel tank without losing the spare tyre or taking up half the tray area. Neither option was practical for a street-driven car. Trailing arms with a panhard rod and coils is an easier option, especially if you can harvest the parts from an 87-88 domestic Alto.

Just to keep this going, these are mine.
13x5.5 and not sure of the offset as the fronts got shaved down to fit. I think +12

Tyres are 6.0/21.0-13 (or roughly 185/50/13)

Slight scrubbing at leading inside edge on full lock. A little less offset would sort it.

Ill Have a look when I get home at why I can't do this, but I was just wondering if there was enough meat (steel) in the front hubs and rear drums to knock the wheel studs out and just drill them out to suit bigger wheel studs? as the regular size studs and nuts are cheap as chips and they would be stronger as well.
