I have no clues really on turbos, but it occured to me that transmission coolers are cheap and do gearboxes. Why can't you use one on a turbo?

Tranny oil coolers are fine for liquid, but they can't handle large volumes of air.

xrs, sorry mate, 90mm core is about 40mm thicker than I can use.

The tranny oil cooler cores are usually only a single length of 10mm pipe bent at 180° all over the place in my experience... Far too restrictive for large volumes of high-pressure air.

JDM vr4 = 420x205x65mm (WxHxD) (core size)
maybe your thinking of the a-spec one? which is quite small

It will fit as a top mount above the gearbox, but as a front mount you've got buckleys.

Hell I'm having trouble trying to mount a cooler that is about 250x150x50mm on my ute, and it has a full size front bar on it.
