K86-2400 Sport koni Sport Strut Insert
Then I got him to fax me a quote from the NSW distributer:
$385 Pair
I thought I would have to do it all for rego but got through with just replacing lower control arms and Ball joints
OK - I have been to Pedders and they said $580 for the pair :-o . So off I went to see my mate and he rang Koni up and got a quote for $490 retail for the pair but said he could get them for me for $373 :-o

This is the same part number as above, 86-2400 (adjustable Koni inserts) but gee is there some price discrepancy!

Now I just have to wait for Pedders to ring me back to tell me how much work is involved in doing the cut and shut.

Will keep you guys updated.

EDIT - It can be done for about 80 bucks labour if I bring my spare set of struts in. So I'm looking at about $480 all up to get the rebuilt with the Koni's. :)

Now, a question: what about lowering them! Do I get them to machine them more or what? I want to run the KSFL-12's with them (King Springs).

Don't worry about that. I'll get a courier to collect and put it on works account. Just let me know when thay are available.

Nice 8) . Will do. Should be around four weeks as my Koni inserts are on order from Europe.

I still have to sort out my front struts.
I'm not sure which direction to head, the sa strut or Koni insert on standard MB strut.
I emailed Koni and have got a price for $465/pair (wholesale suspension Sydney) for the inserts Part no 86-2400.
How hard is it to fit the inserts, whats invovled and any specialised tools needed or other parts?
I have done all the rear shocks and bushes and front bushes and control arms. I just want to get the struts sorted.
I asume the sa strut has a lot of chioce from different suppliers and it will lower the front 1 inch which is fine. Im just a bit worried about drilling the struts and then I need to organise swift brake lines. :?:
Has anyone done the Koni inserts them selves who can shed some light?

from memory u need to cut the top off the original strut with a pipe cutter or somethin, remove the old insert, drill a hole in the bottom of the strut and bolt the new insert throught the hole u drilled

Thanks for the reply sounds fairly straight forward.
Has anyone got any photos or a "how to" of the job? How high would you have to cut? I assume you would have to reseal the top? etc
