Hey Here is a novel IDEA

A Mighty Boy TOP 20 Chart!

You could have a Vote for your favourite MB (using PHP as you already do)

this would be a great way of seeing who has the best of the best by people votes.

There are many php 'voting' scripts available for free.

Why you say? Well everyone likes a little competion and it will add some extra interest to the charts.

Now its pretty obvious who has 1st place as it stands today HINT: Shrek Green

let me know what you think. if you need the script i can chase it for you

Yes, if there is going to be a 'toplist' there should be a couple of different categories.
Umm...
Say 3 - 5 places in each category?

Just throwing some ideas around.

What about if we have a star rating system for each aspect of the car!

EG:

Paint & Body styling 1 to 5 stars
Engine rating 1 to 5 stars
tyres rims 1 to 5 stars
accesories (stereo etc) 1 to 5 stars
originalty 1 to 5 stars

then its the accumulation of stars that will produce the rankings

This sounds a lot like cardomain. ;)

Sorry guys but at the moment its far too much work for myself or eDave. I know eDave is flat out trying to find time to get the new TAMON website finished as it is, but we'll definately keep the idea in mind for later. :)

As far as ideas go...good suggestions, (I like the state idea Jermaine), but seriously guys, if youre going to do a "my dick is bigger than your dick" wank off, I think alot of people will get the shits and go somewhere else.

Its quite obvious to even the untrained eye who has a) the best looking car, b) the loudest sound system, c) the fastest car, etc etc, blah blah.

Besides that, everyone has a different opinion. If you need to have a "public approval rating" for your vehicle, you might want to have a chat to your parents and ask them why they didnt tell you that they loved you enough while you were growing up. (Those early years can be so crucial!)

For a "top 20" idea as an example, there are alot of things to consider.

Firstly, who will run or control this "top 20"?
If youve won, can you qualify for the next round of votes?
How often do you vote?
Can you vote more than once? If so, whats to stop 1 person giving their own car a billion votes to ensure they win?
Can you elect not to be included?
Will there be different categories?
Will the winner get something? i.e. a "feature" and if so, who will do that?
Will anyone else help out? (i.e. NOT leave it all for Brayden and Dave)
Etc etc... I could go on forever.

All these ideas are great, but alot of you forget that there is only a SMALL handful of people that put in all the effort, and make regular USEFUL contributions to keep this site going.
Taking on a suggestion such as a "top 20" is an involved task and I see first hand all the hard efforts Brayden and Dave put in.
As much as these 2 guys enjoy and love these cars, that doesnt mean that they are here to be at your beckon call to upgrade the site or answer all your minor questions when you could have just done a search, or whatever.
These guys DO have a life, family, partners and friends out there too you know. I think alot of you tend to forget that.

Anyway.... thats my 2 cents....

Ahhh Mel, been into the bitch pills again? :P

On the idea of the top 20 thing, I do have some ideas that incorporate "suggestions" more than "voting" - simply because it isn't fair to crown one person a winner just because their personal taste isn't the same as the majority of other people.

Anyway, I've got too much to finish on the site before I get to that idea. ;)

Considering that no state except NSW/ACT has had a successful MB cruise/event so far I would say that an awards night would be out of the question. Sorry to be a wet blanket!
