Hi there,
I am interested in buying a MightyBoy for myself.
I live about 1.5 hrs East of Melbourne VIC, however will consider interstate sales.
Preferably, I would like one with very little more to do to it, and in good/very good condition, however any offerings would be seriously considered!
I would also prefer the 800cc engine and manual transmission, however this would depend on the offering.
An already "done-up" MightyBoy would be a blessing!
Please reply here, PM me, or preferably email me at sim_kram@hotmail.com
Look forward to getting responses,
Cheers.
MM

I am only new to the MB world...
But i found this link for a MB for sale on eBay:
http://cgi.ebay.com.au/Red-1985-Suzuki- ... dZViewItem
Could someone recommend if it is a good buy. Current bid is $1,525.
The seller also says the gearbox is hard to engage in 2nd & 3rd...
Could this mean it would need replacing? How much could this cost?
Cheers,
MM

Not a bad deal. Would require a new box or a reco on the current one. A long way to go from Vic though!

Thanks for your advice It seems like it needs some very minor work. The only thing with eBay sales is you really cant try b4 u buy... I would be willing to spend a bit to gain a bit.
Plus, yeah it is a long way from home
I'll keep my eyes on this forum for other offers.
Cheers

if i was u i would be askin if he would meet half way or somthin, but yeah it is a really good buy
There is not much of a chance of it staying below $3k i reckon. Plus, its bog stock, bar the paint work of course. Plus it has the additional headache of the gearbox problems. It would still be a nice one to have!
Garry. Nuff sed!

I've seen the car - The chequer plate in the back is hiding nasty nasty rust holes, and I noticed that there was an unreasonable amount of bog under the lovely fresh paint in my opinion. Might be OK, but I'd be asking for BEFORE resto photos before forking out - It looked to be suss...
There are better unrestored cars out there with less sins than this one has for similar sorts of money
That's just my opinion anyway on it when I saw it sat up on the end of the F3 freeway at Beresfield

I'll second evil's opinion.
I'd buy a straight stocker (even with crappy paint) over a done up one any day. Problem with mightyboys is that they are cheap cars and as such most (not all) modified boys out there are done on the cheap.
Buy a stocker and throw 4k of paint at it and you'll have a _great_ car.

Thanks evil & fritz... I had suspected such things, but its hard to determine having not looked ober the car myself.
I would definately much rather a straight stocker than a Piece Of S$#@ one, even without a decent paint job!
I will continue my quest for a MB tho. Have seen a few getting around my local area down here in Gippsland VIC. None 4 sale tho, but who knows...
Cheers
