800cc turbo??
I don't think a head change is necessary, mate! Check out Colin's Photos!

SuziSport in QLD have done this exact thing, putting an F6A DOHC head onto an F8B block. The problems with this being that you need a custom tuned aftermarket ECU (big $$$) and you're stuck with the shitty F8B 4 speed box.
Who knows, SuziSport may still have that particular motor in their garage - last I saw they wanted some ludicrous price like $2200 or $2500 without an ECU.
I reckon getting an F6A and stroking/boring it would be a better option.

Who is they and what motor are you reffering to mate?mowog wrote:Did they strengthen the heads on the turbos? I was reading Canadian site and they have apparently had trouble with the bottom ends failing. No mention of the heads tho.

i remember seeing that motor for sale too. $2200 sounds reasonable except it comes with no ecu, so by the time you buy one and tune the thing $$... or you could spend $1800ish on an f6a with ecu
Yeah, but with the f6a you need to throw money at a whole load of other stuff. I dare say more than $1000 too.
I was quoted just on $1200 for a mircotec ecu. Tuned.
With an aftermarket ecu you also get much better performance. In fact I'd consider one even if I wnet for an f6a.
I'd _seriously_ consider that donk @ 2200 if I was looking now & had the money...

I'll vouch for that - good cheap boost.Colin wrote:the carb set up is pre-historic but it works and is a cheaper option
I should get mine running for under $1000, and that includes purchasing all the bits in the first place.
